Liliia Mitronina

About the pianist

An award winning pianist, Liliia loves the creative process of making programs with a story and connecting to audiences in personable ways.

Liliia was born in Kazan and started playing piano at the age of five. In 2016, she graduated with honors from the Kazan Conservatory. Liliia has two master's degrees - Master of classical music (Rotterdam, the Netherlands, 2018) and Master Performance (Lucerne, Switzerland, 2021). She is currently pursuing her third master's degree in pedagogy.

Being an active chamber musician, Liliia enjoys performing in ensembles with other musicians.

“Memories”- Experience the music from a different perspective

A long time in the making, Mitronina puzzled her programming of this repertoire for a long time until “it finally made sense and was exactly what I wanted to share with my audiences!

Its middle and last parts are music by the impressionist Alexander Scriabin and the underappreciated romantic Nickolai Metner. It presents memory not only as an image, a reflection of an event, but also as a complex process going on in the mind. Complementing and opening the program is music by a 20th Century composer Hindemith, in which I hear a state of dreaming and thinking, which is in some ways the opposite of memory.
